Perry Noble, at the recently concluded Elephant in the Room Conference displayed that he, just like Satan, is a gifted and masterful twister of the scriptures. At the conference Noble twisted three passages of scripture to justify the unjustifiable. Here is my review of his statement. BTW, Noble's Bible twisting is exactly what the God forbids in the Second Commandment which states, "Thou shalt not take the Name of the LORD your God in vain."
Chris,
Thanks for the critique. Great stuff! I was an associate pastor at a "seeker targeted" church which does what Perry Noble's church does. After I was let go from confronting the pastor over some scripture twisting, among other things, I did some Scripture study re: what God's view of a seeker is--and discovered just the opposite of what is commonly referred to a seeker by the modern church, i.e., a seeker is a follower of the Lord! Seekers are saved; indeed, the unsaved do not seek the Lord (Rom 3). With that said, let me give you a little constructive criticism. You mentioned that "taking the name of the Lord in vain" was the second Commandment. It is, and I'm sure you know it is the third.
Again, my friend, thank you. Keep fighting the good fight of faith!
Sincerely in Christ,
Glenn Hawkins
